Well, here we are into the middle of March and in a couple of weeks we’ll be ‘springing forward’ as the clocks go forward and hopefully the warmer, drier weather arrives. This should have a positive effect on the course as it dries out and the grass begins to grow, and much needed work can hopefully commence on some course maintenance which has been promised. I’m sure David, Colin and Jeff have had enough of the rain!
I think the final updates on the competitions and fixtures should be on the relevant section of the website. Please have a look and familiarize yourself with what is going on and get your entries into the competitions as soon as they become live.
I am hoping to run a ‘Captains Charity’ competition on Saturday 18th April. This will be a stableford competition and you’ll be able to enter via HDID in early April.
This competition is in support of my chosen charities for this year, which are:-
Families in Care
I hope you will support these throughout the year.
Although we have a large number of our own competitions, can I just plug the US Masters Texas Scramble on Saturday 15Th August 2020. As a club we have signed up to this nationally organized event. The winner of our event goes through to a final, the winners of which go to the Masters at Augusta next year. It’s a 4 person team but you’re only 2 games away from the Masters! It is an open and you can now enter.
The Winter League has another few weeks left so get those scores in. May I then wish everyone a great season.
…………and finally. The chap who was summoned before the Directors for playing off the ladies’ tee was let off when he explained he was playing his third shot!!
