As with my previous blogs and reports I seem to be making comments about how quickly the year is passing us by. Next week sees the start of September, with probably a more autumnal feel about it.
Its been a great return to golf for the club as a whole. Tee times filled via BRS, larger entries into competitions, new members and more visitors has seen very positive vibes around the place. This is great to see and should help the club get over any earlier problems and concerns due to the Covid pandemic.
We’ve also recently seen the return of Brian Wigham with his catering facilities getting up and running………this can only be good for everyone concerned. Lots of work has now been completed around the clubhouse and surrounding area achieving a very professional and smart appearance. David Stokoe and his staff continue to work on aspects of the course.
Not much team golf has been played but I would like send my best wishes to the Junior team in the upcoming semi final of the Durham County Junior Clark Cup, and also to ‘Consett Boys’ in their quest to win the countrywide US Masters Texas Scramble final in Scotland in late September.
Finally, please adhere to all rules and regulations throughout the club, especially the social distancing together with the systems put in place to help combat Covid19.
Take Care & Stay Safe
